A morning briefing without another subscription

There is a whole shelf of apps whose entire product is a morning briefing: they connect to your calendar, summarize your day, and charge a subscription for the habit. The briefing is good. The economics are strange — one more account, one more monthly line, for something that is fundamentally a task somebody runs for you every morning.

In Aplite the briefing is exactly that: a task. It ships with every workspace as a draft — armed, it runs once a day before you start and writes one message:

• what today’s calendar holds (when a Google Calendar is connected),
• what the weather is doing,
• what your own workspace is holding for you — notes you flagged, tasks waiting, things the agent was asked to remember.

Nothing is answered or moved on your behalf. The briefing is a read of the day, not an action on it.

Where it lands is up to you

Telegram is the default. Email, chat, or a document in your workspace are one field away — the delivery channel is a plain property on the task, not a plan tier.

Why a task beats a product here

You can read the instructions. The briefing’s prompt is a file in your workspace. If the briefing is too long, you write “shorter”; if Mondays need the week ahead, you add a line saying so. There is no settings screen trying to anticipate you — the settings are sentences.

It composes. The same agent that briefs you also holds your notes, runs your other routines, and answers follow-ups in chat. “Move that call” is a conversation with the thing that just told you about the call — not a jump to another app.

It stops when you stop wanting it. Disarm the trigger and it is a draft again. No cancellation flow, nothing to uninstall.
