Workflow builders make you draw the automation: pick a trigger node, wire it to an action node, map the fields, test the run. The drawing is the work — and the drawing is what breaks when anything changes.

An AI teammate takes the sentence instead. In Aplite, an automation is a task: a small file with instructions in plain language and a schedule field. What holds it together

Three things make this different from wiring nodes:

• The task is a file you can read. Instructions are prose, the schedule is a field on the task. Changing the automation is editing a sentence, not re-wiring a graph.
• Nothing acts without you. Anything that would leave the workspace — a sent draft, a file edit — lands in Approvals first. You approve, edit, or reject.
• Every routine arrives disarmed. Installing one gives you a draft task with the schedule seeded and the trigger off. The agent fills in the blanks with you in chat, and nothing runs until you arm it.
